The captain
Kirk Miller is the owner of Captain Kirk's San Francisco Sailing. He holds a 100-ton US Coast Guard Master Mariner license and has more than forty years of sailing experience, including an ocean crossing.
Before this, he spent a twenty-year career in civil engineering, with a Masters from Stanford. He retired from it to do the thing he actually loved.
Cruising under the Golden Gate, circling Angel Island, or teaching the lessons that get people ready to bare-boat charter on their own — he has been sharing this bay with people for two decades.
The fleet
All of our trips are private; we don't mix groups. There will only be your group and our crew on the boat.

Owned since 2008. Fast, stable and a total joy to sail — her helm is light and responsive. While other boats struggle in the stiff San Francisco breeze, she sails fast and stays comfortable.

A single large sail drives her well through the currents of the Bay and makes for a glorious downwind ride. The smaller, quieter way to do this.

On the water
The whole boat, your group only, three-hour minimum. From Sausalito or San Francisco.
Comprehensive lessons, including for people preparing to bare-boat charter on their own.
A day on the Bay that isn't a conference room.
Sail out, circle the island, and eat ashore.
A private trip on the Bay for a family saying goodbye.
Both are welcome aboard.
Rates
Prices are for the entire boat and include tax. A gratuity for the crew is not included — usually 20%, like a restaurant. There is no minimum guest requirement.

Grab a seat aboard Osprey, our 50-foot yacht, and watch the sun go down from under the Golden Gate Bridge. Leaves from Sausalito, up to 16 guests. Snacks and a soft drink included.
Finding us
Park along the sidewalk at 180 Harbor Dr, Sausalito — on Road 3, before the fence into the marina lot.
Once you've parked, call and we'll walk you to the boat. Please don't ask the marina office — they don't know where we are.
